TCJE and our advocate partners hosted approximately 200 students and teachers at the Texas State Capitol for “Raise the Age Day.” This provided an opportunity for students, legislators, and youth advocates to discuss the importance and impact of raising the age, which will ensure that youth do not end up in adult prisons and reduce later incidents of re-offending. The day included a documentary viewing, a panel discussion, legislative office visits, and a press conference.
