Abilene ISD Adult Education Program

The Adult Education Programs are based on the belief that every adult, regardless of age, is entitled to a basic education. The following programs are available to give adults a second chance to further their education: Adult Basic Education GED TestingEnglish as a Second LanguageLiteracyGED ClassesUnited States CitizenshipGED Official Practice Tests (OPT) The Adult Education Programs are open to anyone who is 17 or older.There is no cost for instruction and/or materials for students enrolled in Adult Education classes. The Adult Education Programs are sponsored by the Abilene Independent School District and are supported by state and federal funds. How do I register for GED classes? Call (325) 671-4419 to sign up for a two day orientation. Attendance is required on both days to complete the registration process.For other classes, call (325) 671-4419 for registration dates.

Christian Women's Job Corps of Abilene

This is free, faith-based, 13-weeek program. All classes are centered around Biblical principles. Classes include Time Management, Money Management, Relationships and Keyboarding, Word, Excel, and Internet Usage They also have group counseling once a week at a local university. The program cannot accept a sex offender and it is a case-by-case decision on someone convicted of physical violence.
