The 24-hour toll free Crisis Hotline is 877-277-2226. This crisis number is for people facing an emergency situation, such as having a homicidal or suicidal thoughts. If your call is an emergency, a crisis team may be sent out to help manage your situation. If necessary, emergency services may also be contacted to respond to your crisis.

VA North Texas Health Care System - Sherman Community Based Outpatient Clinic

VA North Texas Health Care System has a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) program to provide health maintenance and preventive health care within 30 miles or 30 minutes of a veteran's home.

Classes are taught in GED, ESL, and Basic Adult Education. At the Center For Workplace Learning, you can take a course to gain a skill or earn a certificate. Many of the programs offer continuing education unit (CEU) credit, and some programs also prepare individuals for professional licensure exams. Online courses are available as well.

They offer job placement for people coming out of incarceration/returning to their communities, as well as those with criminal records/backgrounds or in recovery from substance addiction and alcoholism. Many of the jobs we place lead to permanent, full-time employment. They post new jobs daily throughout the Dallas area, as well as in Sherman. They are also expanding into Arlington and Fort Worth.

Clients must have a clean drug test and cannot have any violent crimes, sexual offenses or crimes against children on their records. Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a not for profit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. They are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. The desire to stop using is the only requirement for membership. The meetings are free and anyone may join. Tri-County Area of Narcotics Anonymous includes Alvin, Angleton, Bacliff, Bay City, Clear Lake, Clute, Dickinson, Galveston, La Marque, League City, Pearland, Santa Fe, Texas City , Manvel and Webster.
