The Family Health Clinic (FHC) is a community-based healthcare program that operates in partnership with Medical Center Hospital, the Ronald McDonald Charities, and the Family Dental Clinic to provide a wide range of healthcare services to uninsured and underinsured individuals in Odessa and the surrounding communities.The FHC provides medical services for walk-in appointments, acute services, minor mental health service, physicals, DOT physicals, well child exams, immunizations, CLIA waived lab services, and radiology services. Provides community mental health services. Use the main phone number to contact an office for an appointment or to ask for more information about eligibility and programs. The 24-hour toll free Crisis Hotline is 1-800-542-4005. This crisis number is for people facing an emergency situation, such as having a homicidal or suicidal thoughts. If your call is an emergency, a crisis team may be sent out to help manage your situation. If necessary, emergency services may also be contacted to respond to your crisis.

Samaritan Counseling Center of West Texas, Inc.

Samaritan Counseling Center is a faith-based counseling center that specializes in individual, martial, family counseling, alcohol and drug dependency, eating disorders, anger management, and psychological issues of the elderly with grief, depression and coping. Clients may contact the center to schedule an appointment. The Center has a standard fee, but many insurance policies cover services. Some churches and employers have contracted to underwrite a portion of treatments, and assistance is provided for those clients with no insurance and low income. Counseling and career testing are free to active military, veterans, and their families.

The Odessa College Adult Basic Education Program provides instruction in basic reading, writing, math and life coping skills for adults below a ninth grade education level. Instruction is individualized to allow students to work at their own level. Computer assisted instruction and academic counseling are available. Students also have access to the Internet. Upon successful completion of the curriculum the students are ready for the GED preparation classes.

Their employment specialists will do their best to put you to work in one of their locations, or help you find employment in the area. Goodwill West Texas also provides Work Adjustment Training. By working one on one with a mentor, this training program helps individuals build the foundation needed to find and maintain employment in the community.

Housing Services

Freedom House Discipleship

Freedom House Discipleship provides a one-year, faith-based discipleship program for men. The program also offers employment placement, transportation assistance, and parole fee assistance. The first six months are free of charge; once residents are gainfully employed, they must pay 15% of their wages toward room and board. Assistance is provided in establishing a checking account and acquiring birth certificates and state ID cards.

A ministry that helps the homeless and poor and needy, with food, clothing and life skills help. They also run a men's transitional home and are in the process of building a facility to house women and children.
